Visual Scraps & Artistic Endeavors • September 2024
Attending SPX2024 earlier this month inspired me so much!!
I’ve definitely been sketching out new concepts and ideas since then … not to mention I’m always working a number artworks in general.
That said, I don’t really have much quite ready to share with you here this month.
And unfortunately, it’s not just for this month.
Sigh …
I think most if not all of October and probably the same can be said of November, I’m going to be a bit tied up with overseas travel, speaking engagements, plus my own fall semester.
(1) STUDIO TIME
Despite being time strapped these days, I did manage to work from my art studio a few times and got caught up with a handful of chores, including the upscaling of several art frames.
(2) ACRYLIC LANDSCAPE BEGINS
While working from my studio, I started a new acrylic landscape painting, though it still has quite a ways more to go … and at this time, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to finish it.
Still, I enjoyed getting this landscape going … and circling back at some point to continue working on it is something I’m looking forward to.
I hope that you, too, will make time for your own art and creative projects, even if you’re tight on time these days (like me!).
So get something started, even if you don’t finish.
Sometimes, art making takes more time than we have at the immediate moment to complete. And other times, we may start something and never really quite finish it. Both of these scenarios are more than ok because art making is not a marathon, right? Remember, it’s supposed to be a joyful and nourishing experience 🤍
So show up, work your art, enjoy your own company, AND practice your wondrous creativity, even if only in short windows or spurts.
