Visual Scraps & Artistic Endeavors • June 2024
The following lists three visual endeavors I’ve (really) enjoyed this June 🙏🏽
(1) BE ALIVE animated gif
This vintage tight walker dude boldly reminds us to BE ALIVE!
I made the animation by first creating an Instagram story, then downloading the .mov file, which I later converted to animated gif using Vimeo.
(2) DIGITAL COLLAGE
“Somewhere is where I’ll find you”
Clipping words from different sources to create unexpected sentences or phrases as part of my collaging process is one of my fave things to do.
(3) “PEACE” INSPIRED BY MATISSE
Figure, carved from used cardboard, promotes peace on earth
This in-progress pic features a cardboard piece (for display at my local library) promoting world peace.
I sourced the sturdy, industrial cardboard from a recycle dumpster and used it to shape this figure from Henri Matisse’s paper cut-outs era (1950s).
