Visual Endeavors • Highlights for June 2024
The following lists three visual endeavors I’ve (really) enjoyed this June 🙏🏽
(1) BE ALIVE animated gif
This vintage tight walker dude boldly reminds us to BE ALIVE!
I made the animation by first creating an Instagram story, then downloading the .mov file, which I later converted to animated gif using Vimeo.
(2) DIGITAL COLLAGE
“Somewhere is where I’ll find you”
Clipping words from different sources to create unexpected sentences or phrases as part of my collaging process is one of my fave things to do.
(3) “PEACE” INSPIRED BY MATISSE
Salvaged cardboard figure promotes peace on earth
This behind-the-scenes shot features a cardboard sculpture (for a local art display) promoting world peace. I totally had to dumpster dive behind a local restaurant to find good and thick cardboard I could carve in order to shape this figure, which I gleaned from Henri Matisse’s paper cut-outs era (1950s).
So what visual stuff have YOU been up to this month?
