Paper Art: Full Figure Cutouts Using Junk Mail & Newspapers
Well I know last month, I said I wasn’t sure if I’d have much time to work on my art this (and next) month because I was traveling, had a number of speaking engagements, and am deep into my fall semester.
Gladly, I’m thrilled to have been wrong 🙂
I simply couldn’t stay away from my art practice and am so excited to make a little time for fiddling around with some paper art👇🏽
YES, PAPER ART
Besides being portable and completely no-tech (which I absolutely LOVE because sometimes you just gotta get OFF the computer or the Internet and smartphone, you know!?!), paper art is so much fun; all that paper cutting and arranging absolutely soothes the art soul, for sure!
The cut out figures are cut from newspapers, magazines and fashion catalogs.
The best part of playing around with paper art is that you’re not limited to paper, of course!
Case in point: notice I embellished the figure below with a little embroidered accent 👇🏽
OK well that’s about all the paper art time I have for now.

Life is full at the moment and I’m posting this shortly before my overseas travel so I’m not sure when I’ll have another stolen art moment to post about but until then, I hope you’re staying creative and colorful.
