Keepsake Dreams: A Mixed Media Collage-Themed Card Collection
Keepsake Dreams
That’s what I’m calling my handcrafted card collection, which I’m creating from endless junk mail, rubber stamps (with my own designs), collage elements, thrift store paper goods, and more.
These sustainable blank cards showcase original art.
They also range in size, theme, and quantity.
Most, in fact, are standalone designs.
I say standalone because I usually have just enough material to design only one card.
Sometimes, though rarely, I *might* have enough material to stretch out and produce at least 2, maybe 3 of the same card.
But most of the cards designs are beautiful one-hit wonders 🙏🏽
All cards are made from or with:
- junk mail
- paint color chips
- repurposed stationery from thrift store finds
- various magazine and news clippings
- rubber stamps (featuring my own designs)
- acrylic paints
An iffy side note
The word “card” feels inaccurate to me, in part, because they’re more like “mementos of artistic expression” or loving keepsakes one cherishes across time.
Anyways
As I keep working on creating original product lines, like this mixed media memento collection and other original items, for my store (launch date TBD), I’m considering how to better extend product designs. So then perhaps some of these designs might work well as stickers or sticker sheets. Or matchbox cover art.
While I’m still pondering such things, I’m sharing the production direction I’ve made so far with these mixed media collage keepsakes, which I’m loving so so much.
Honestly, the photos do not do these cards justice but overall, I hope you enjoy the in-progress visuals shared above as well the sustainable art spirit by which these keepsake mementos are being made.
Yours in art and creative expression,
