I adore art made by kids.
Their pictures are so pure and their bold lines never lie.
Especially courageously thick lines — like those my nephew, Chase, used when rendering my portrait in oil pastels.
Encourage children that gravitate towards art
I’m a huge advocate for encouraging kids to draw or scribble with any marking instrument and paper available.
It’s so important to support kids in their artistic moods and with their creative goals;
… because even if the child isn’t a budding Michelangelo, teaching kids to express themselves does wonderful things to boost confidence, encourage imagination, and nurture self-esteem.
So whenever a child shows the slightest interest or excitement in any kind of art or craft activity, I hope you’ll go all out and support them.
