I adore artwork made by kids.

Their art is so pure and their bold lines never lie.

Especially courageously thick lines — like those my nephew, Chase, used when rendering my portrait in oil pastels.

Encourage children that gravitate towards art

I’m a huge advocate for encouraging kids to draw or scribble with *whatever* marking instrument and paper are available.

It’s so important to support kids in their artistic moods and with their creative goals;

… because even if the child isn’t a budding Michelangelo, teaching kids to express themselves does wonderful things to boost confidence, encourage imagination, and nurture self-esteem.

So whenever a child shows the slightest interest or excitement in any kind of art or craft activity, I hope you’ll go all out and support them.

Yours in art,
